what's being elected at all? And what of it?
From 06 - 10 July 2009, StuPa elections. Once a year all students the opportunity to have the student parliament - choose - short StuPa. The StuPa then chooses the AStA (the General Student Committee) and adopt the budget, and written resolutions.
The above-mentioned AStA takes care of all aspects of the students. If you have a problem, then, you get help there. If you are planning a project / event, you can try the student council to request money for it. So it is in this election about what kind of people you choose in the StuPa, and what they have and what self-image Views on certain issues they have.
The Senate was once the highest decision making body of the University of Bielefeld. Now it has transferred most of its powers to the Board of Trustees. The Senate is indeed equal representation, which means members sit in all university status groups (ie students, not research assistants, research assistants and professors) in it, but the relationship between status groups is not the same if it there for 12 professors (absolute majority) and Students are only 4. This ratio of seats in our opinion is undemocratic! In addition, the concerns of students
are not taken seriously in that forum. Since ¡Rabatz! is opposed to participation in this most undemocratic body, we suggest you "invalid" to choose, for example, write "abstain" on the ballot for this undemocratic bodies.
The University Council - no, not the Dared you choose! The dials themselves, meeting in camera and is now half filled with external parties, with no knowledge of local university relationships and structures - not to mention the concerns of students.
No voice to the undemocratic structures. ¡Rabatz power!
